You don't want any nagging doubts, you will never be satisfied either way until you are sure.
Educate yourself my friend.

There Is No Atheist In Practice!
by abiather in1) in conscious level, everyone agrees with the principle of cause and effect that says a cause precedes every effect, and every effect is the cause for another effect/s.
in subconscious level, everyone knows that if there is a cause for everything, then there a cause (or a designer) for the principle of causation also.
and this cause is more real than the principle of causation itself, just like source is more real than the resources!.

If god exists, he's a dick and doesn't deserve acknowledgement of his existence. Let alone worship.
Have a nice day

New Study Exposes Acupuncture As Pseudoscience
by alecholmesthedetective inbesides it being pseudoscience, what interests me about this is that even though it's something to do with the "qi" energy flowing in our bodies, that wasn't a problem for some members of my family or a special pioneer i knew.. new study exposes acupuncture as pseudoscience.

JWs love pseudoscience! Anything to distrust Satan's medical system. I've yet to meet a JW who will accept that homeopathy is bullshit.
Qi energy or not, they will give it a try. As long as there isn't any hand waving or chanting.
Ive even known JWs who have made their living on homeopathy and reflexology

Welcome!
Take the others' here advice and take. It. Slow. You will be doing a lot of reading, a lot of thinking and not a lot of sleeping for the next few months.
And whatever you do... I can't be clear enough about this... Do NOT spill the beans to your wife yet. Or anyone for that matter. Figure your end out first. You will go through all of the regular phases of grief and she will be concerned.. Deflect for now. We read a lot of stories just like yours and mine here everyday. Of all of the success stories, it is most often the ones who are very careful and play the long game with their spouses who have much better chances. Personally I spilled the beans completely after about a month, and now 2.5 years later I've still not convinced my wife to get out with me. We are making progress for sure, but that ONE conversation set us back years. I can't stress this enough.
Also do all of the recommended reading. All of it. Self education is your best bet right now.

I think Im an Atheist :(? :)?
by chrisuk inive been pondering my beliefs for a while now and ive come across things that i just cant accept.
i was recently walking with a christian who stated that the universe couldnt just come from nothing.
he said that the universe was so complex that it needed a designer, he also said something which ive heard before.

The laws of nature weren't made to match or follow a mathematical constant, the constants exist separate from nature. Nature just happens to be measurable by mathematical constants.
So to say that nature is so "finely tuned" that it couldn't come about but by a designer is false. Nature predates any and all mathematical and scientific observation and emasurement.

How can i continue my fade vs the rubber band theorem that pulls my wife in
by DS211 inim at a crossroads my friends.
im beginning to feel that my oppurtunities to get my wife out are waning.
weve misssed many meetings she still smokes a cig a day.
-
Captain Obvious
Hmm tough situation! If she smokes even a little, does she feel guilty about it or fine? If she feels fine then she is able to think for herself. Build on that.

Congrats!
It's funny, I think it was a conversation with an uber Christian that helped me realize I was an atheist, too. Just being able to poke holes in their arguments and reasons for believing... It's too easy.

Does faith really mean everything to the practicing Jehovah's Witness
by I_love_Jeff inor is it the things of this world?
for example, model coco rocha caught my attention this morning and of course she is a jehovahs witness.
she says, "my faith is everything.

I've seen her at some assemblies. You could tell she was just there with her mom, not regularly. Especially considering the attention she was getting.
